Key Features

🤖

Batch export

Leverage powerful automation to handle repetitive BIM tasks, from complex parameter management to large-scale drawing and documentation generation. This approach saves valuable time and significantly reduces the risk of errors, ensuring greater consistency and quality across all project deliverables.

Family parameter value

Seamlessly extract and unlock the rich data embedded within your Revit families. Our tool exports both instance and type parameters into a structured format, bridging the gap between your BIM model and external data analysis tools. This enables detailed quality control, accurate cost estimation, and integration with spreadsheets and databases for comprehensive project insights.

With a simple installer and clear instructions, you can get the tool up and running in minutes, without requiring extensive IT support or complex configuration, allowing you to focus on your design and engineering tasks immediately.

Rekaku.Tool Overview

A powerful Revit 2024 add-in designed to batch export family parameters, 3D images, and filenames to JSON format. Perfect for creating web-based family component catalogues and streamlining your BIM workflow.

How to Use Rekaku.Tool

1

Prepare Your Project

  • Open a Revit project (.rvt) that contains the family instances you want to export
  • If your families are not yet loaded, load them into the project and place at least one instance of each family you want to export
2

Start the Export

  • In Revit, go to the FamilyToData tab on the ribbon
  • Click the Export Families button to start the export process
3

Wait for Processing

  • The add-in will process all placed family instances (excluding system and annotation categories)
  • For each unique family type, it will:
    • Create a dedicated 3D view, hide levels, and set a consistent southwest isometric orientation
    • Export a high-resolution PNG image of the family instance
    • Collect all instance and type parameters
4

Find Your Exported Data

  • The exported images are saved to: Downloads/RekakuExport/Images/
  • The exported JSON file (with all parameters and image paths) is saved to: Downloads/RekakuExport/json/
  • The JSON filename includes a timestamp for easy tracking
5

Use the Data

  • You can use the exported JSON and images for web catalogues, documentation, or further processing

Important Notes:

  • The exporter does not work when run from a family file (.rfa) opened directly in the family editor
  • Only visible, placed family instances in the active project are exported
